still playing with the original. this is only some brightening and channel mixing which left the tree yellow. just not a long enough exposure and too much "stuff" around it.

Was this taken with an IR (R72) filter attached to the lens? Or was it just photoshopped?
If your using a filter attached to the lens then you have to preset your white balance to something green (grass).
You will get a pinkish looking image, then with channel mixer you have to swap the red and blue channels. And finally set your white and black points with levels. This should get you started. Any questions? Go ahead. :)

yeah, it the filter was attached and the white balanced was adjusted to a shot of grass. i just didn't have the exposure set long enough to get more white from the plants. i was just giddy that it was coming out somewhat the way it was suppose to (as before when i wasn't adjusting the wb) but had to end taking the photos early because a gigantic thunderstorm was sitting behind me and finally stole all my sunshine. :(
